CERAMICS CAMP 24

This summer, join us for an exciting ceramics camp at our studio in Ferndale! Students will learn the ins and outs of working with clay, honing their skills and techniques with this versatile medium. They'll explore various clay tools, firing methods, and more.
Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity and creative freedom to work on hand-building or wheel-throwing projects. They'll deepen their understanding of function versus form and will be encouraged to think outside the box as they develop both fine and gross motor skills. Grades: 4-8 One-week sessions:

Journey through the whispering woods of Forestland, where campers delve into the lush, green mysteries of nature. They'll express the tranquility and wildness of the forest through painting, sculpture, and drawing, while dance and music will mimic the natural rhythms and sounds of woodland life. Interactive theater will bring forest folklore and animal tales to life, inspiring a deep appreciation for nature's artistry.

Embrace the spirit of unity and creativity with Community Collaboration. This theme focuses on group projects that blend individual talents into collective masterpieces. From mural painting to ensemble performances in music and dance, campers will learn the value of teamwork. Week 3: July 08 to July 12, 2024

Blast off on an interstellar adventure where science meets art! This camp combines the wonders of Space and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) to fuel creativity and curiosity. Campers will explore the universe through artistic projects like galaxy painting and rocket sculptures, while dance and music capture the vastness of space. Theater pieces will dramatize space exploration, encouraging campers to dream big.

Celebrate the spooky spirit of Halloween with a summery twist! Campers will enjoy crafting spooky decorations, creating eerie art, and sculpting monsters and ghouls. Dance and music will take on a haunted vibe, while theater activities allow campers to act out summer ghost stories. It's a perfect blend of fright and fun under the sun!

Delve into the fantastical world of Monsters and Myths, where legends come to life. Campers will draw inspiration from mythological tales and monster lore to create captivating art, from dragon sculptures to paintings of mythical scenes. Dance and music will echo the adventures of heroes and monsters, while theater pieces reenact ancient myths, encouraging campers to weave their own legendary tales.

Through painting, drawing, and sculpture, campers will recreate historical and futuristic scenes, while dance and music will reflect the changing times. Dive into the deep blue to explore the marvels of the Open Ocean. Campers will create art inspired by the sea, from coral reef paintings to sea creature sculptures.
