Welcome to Our Thursday Early Release Ceramic Program!
Wondering what to do with your middle schooler on Thursday early release days? Our ceramic classes are the perfect solution! Designed specifically for 6th-8th graders, we pick up students at 1:15 PM and provide an engaging afternoon filled with hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and sculpture. It's a creative, productive way to spend those early release hours while developing artistic skills in a supportive environment.

About the Sculpture Studio

Nestled in the heart of Ferndale, Washington, our studio is designed to inspire and facilitate the creation of beautiful ceramic works.
Location:2693 Delta Ring Road, Unit 5, Ferndale, WA 98248

Our main studio is a vibrant, well-equipped space that caters to both beginners and experienced ceramicists. Sharing a building with Miles Woodworking, our studio brings together the best of craftsmanship under one roof. We cater to a range of ages and skill levels, making our space an ideal place for family activities, after-school programs, and individual exploration. From basic hand-building techniques to more advanced projects, we offer a progression of skills that grow with our students.

Equipment and Resources:

• High-quality clay for all projects
• Work tables for hand-building and sculpting
• Pottery wheels for throwing (age and skill-level appropriate)
• Slab roller for creating uniform clay sheets
• Kiln for firing finished pieces​

Safety and Support:

• All materials and tools are chosen with safety in mind
• Instructors are trained to work with students of various ages and abilities
• Clean, well-organized space to enhance the creative process​

• Transportation provided between schools and Sculpture Studio
• Pick-up from Whatcom, Shuksan & Kulshan Middle Schools
• Parents to pick up students from Whatcom Middle school after class
• Bring snack and water bottle
• Optional: Bring a change of clothes to get messy
