Welcome to Gabriel's Art Kids Ceramic & Sculpture Studio! Our professional studio offers middle school students (6th–8th grade) the opportunity to explore hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and sculptural techniques in a creative, supportive environment.

Equipment

Pottery wheels, hand-building tables, slab roller, glazing stations, and a kiln. All clay and materials are included in class fees.

Safety

All tools and materials are age-appropriate. Our instructors are trained to work with middle schoolers in a safe, supportive environment.

Techniques Covered

Hand-building, wheel-throwing, centering, trimming, surface decoration, glazing, and kiln firing processes.

Who It's For

Middle school students (6th–8th grade), all experience levels welcome — from complete beginners to students with prior experience.

Thursday Early Release

After-school ceramics on early dismissal Thursdays

Thursdays Ages 11–14 All Levels Van Pickup Available

Take advantage of early release Thursdays with a ceramics session at our D Street studio. Students are picked up from local middle schools and dropped off after class. All clay and materials included.

Van pickup from local middle schools — check registration for specific locations
All clay and materials included in enrollment
Small class sizes for personalized instruction
Projects include hand-building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and sculptural forms
Students take home fired ceramic work
Any work left more than 30 days after firing will be recycled

Tue, Wed & Fri classes with Teacher Haley — April & May

Join Teacher Haley for after-school ceramics this spring! Pick the days and dates that work for your family — classes are $45 each and you register for individual sessions.

Tuesdays — All Levels Wheel Throwing Come get messy with GAK ceramics! We will dive into wheel throwing for all experience levels, from centering to adding sculptural forms to wheel thrown works. Learn the fundamentals of creating wheel thrown pottery to make forms such as mugs, plates, and bowls in a fun and supportive environment. $45 / class

Wednesdays — All Levels Wheel Throwing Same great class, second day option! Come get messy with GAK ceramics! We will dive into wheel throwing for all experience levels, from centering to adding sculptural forms to wheel thrown works. Learn the fundamentals of creating wheel thrown pottery to make forms such as mugs, plates, and bowls in a fun and supportive environment. $45 / class

Fridays — One With Nature Learn to blend nature and clay in this 4-session exploration using plants and elements from nature as tools for texture, design, and inspiration. This class will mainly focus on hand-building and sculptural forms to create nature-inspired works. Students are encouraged to bring ideas or small pieces of nature that inspire them, such as leaves, shells, and flowers. $45 / class

Drop-off: 4:00–4:30 PM | Pick-up: 6:15–6:30 PM
Session length: ~3 hours
Registration closes 24 hours before each class
Minimum of 3 students required — invoice sent once confirmed, payment due before class
25 lbs of clay included in enrollment
